Yin Yoga Teacher Training: Level 1 + Kirtan with Prema
15th to 20th of May 2012
Yin Yoga uses long-held postures that support us in accessing
the deeper, more yin parts of ourself. In this 6-day training,
we explore how the ancient yogic practice of Yin Yoga can
bring balance to our physical, energetic, and emotional bodies.
Guided by Biff Mithoefer, author of The Yin Yoga Kit, we learn
how to lead a Yin Yoga class and incorporate yin postures
and philosophy into any yoga practice. We discover how to:
* Apply Taoist philosophy in our practice
* Practice nonstriving in our lives and our teaching
* Follow the movement of prana in the body and discover how
it can be affected by Yin Yoga
* Develop a deeper understanding of anatomy and our own
natural anatomical patterns
* Sequence a Yin Yoga class
* Hold a safe, sacred space for practice
Yin Yoga Teacher Training, Part 1 is suitable for yoga
teachers and experienced practitioners who wish to deepen
their Yin Yoga practice
During this training we will have the pleasure to hear the devotional kirtans from Prema. To listen to her music, please click here

can best support our students in their own journeys as we
explore creative and collaborative approaches to teaching
and learning through inquiries and explorations of the
following themes:
-- The practice of holding space
-- Body and energy awareness: deepening our range of
perception, learning tofollow our inner teacher, and supporting
others to do the same;
-- Embodiment: grounding our teaching in our body
-- Self-Realization and Creativity: exploring and developing
our unique strengths and style as teachers;
-- Personal Growth and Mindfulness: identifying and
addressing our blind spots and 'growing edges' as teachers;
-- Relationship and Community: encouraging mutual support
and peer learning,taking our practice into the world;
-- The use of story, poetry and metaphors to invite a deeper
somatic experience
This training is designed for experienced Yin Yoga teachers
and those who have studied Yin Yoga with Biff.
