Being an experienced yoga teacher, you probably know what it feels like to participate in a magical, transformational yoga experience. An experience that touches you deeply, that supports you to access new dimensions of who you are and leaves you with greater capacity to live your life from a place of love. But have you ever thought about the mastery that goes into the design behind it? How the theme of a morning yoga class is consciously chosen to create readiness for a specific theoretical topic later during the day, how a specific song or poem seems to magically be shared at the right moment or how reflection time is balanced into the experience to enable integration?
This 100hr Advanced teacher training module is for you who want to develop as a yoga educator and learn more deeply about how to design and hold space for longer yoga workshops and retreats that are safe and transformational. We will be a intimate group of max 10 people.
The training is designed by Åsa Rexare Simonsen, ERYT-500. She will be the main teacher, sharing methods for learning design and facilitation as well as holding space for yoga, meditation, sharing circles and different exercises.
Åsa has been assisting teacher in several yoga teacher trainings and offered retreats and workshops for many years. Åsa is passionate about education, learning design and facilitation and has extensive experience with designing and facilitating leadership development with big global corporate clients as her ‘dayjob’.
Develop as a yoga educator
As we begin teaching yoga we start with sharing single yoga classes. With more experience many of us move towards offering longer workshops and retreats where we are hoping to take our students on deeper, transformational journeys. With this intention, we as teachers have a responsibility to provide a safe and conscious process. With confidence in how to design and facilitate these experiences, we can expand the level of transformation and we are well prepared to hold space for whatever shows up for individuals and the group.
What and how you will learn
In this training, you will develop as a yoga educator through exploration and practice of contemporary methods on learning design and facilitation/holding space. We will use our creativity to uncover how we might integrate these insights with traditional tantric philosophy, as well as considerations for the philosophical underpinnings of retreats and trainings. There will also be space for you to articulate what is your own unique, individual offering and you will leave having designed your own 2-day retreat or workshop.
You can expect an inquiry-based training without ‘dogma’ where multiple perspectives are welcome and where we are all both students and teachers. An experiential learning environment where we co-create, try things out, then reflect and ground our learnings into our individual contexts.
There is a clear curriculum for the training but we will also adapt parts of the workshops to focus on topics of interest for this specific group.
During the training we will start and end each day with movement, yoga and meditation as a way to process, integrate and embody our learnings. There will be a balance between theory, workshops, practice and time for reflection and integration. You can also look forward to playfulness, dancing, singing and being close to nature.
Teaching will be in English.
For you who are registered with Yoga Alliance, it will be certified as continued YACEP education.

MORE at Shambala
“Ever since the conclusion of my yoga teacher training at Yandara a little over two months ago, I’ve been searching for ways to describe the profoundly moving beauty and genuineness of the course and of the people conducting it. I left enriched with such an abundance of life transforming experiences and powerful practical skills that truly even the most gifted of poets would be lost for words to express. However, despite not knowing what to say, my endless gratitude towards the teachers together with an innermost desire for more people to find out about this exceptional school is making it impossible for me to not constantly talk about it”.
